Digital testing
TRaC offers a variety of digital telecoms testing services. These services are UKAS accredited (ref. 0971) and many have also been accredited by specific country's certification agencies.
The testing services are supported by very experience staff, most of which have been involved in international working groups developing the technology standard.
TRaC's digital testing services can be sub divided into 4 areas. These are:
- PDH testing. PDH multiplexes each level to provide more and more channels for each line, starting at 64kbit/s and increasing to 140Mbit/s. There are two hierarchies, those based upon 2048kbit/s (for example Europe and Australia) sometimes denoted by 'E' prefix and those based on 1544kbit/s (for example North America and Japan) sometimes denoted by 'T' or 'DS' prefix.
- ISDN testing. ISDN technology can be split into two main areas, Basic Access and Primary Rate. TRaC offers comprehensive testing of ISDN devices, including layers 1, 2 and 3.
- Protocol testing. In addition to ISDN, TRaC provides testing against many protocols including Channel Associated Signalling (CAS), R2, Common Channel Signalling (CCS) and Signalling System No. 7 (SS7).
- SDH and Optical services are often denoted by STM (Synchronous transport module) or SONET (Synchronous Optical Network). Additional information about SDH » and Optical testing »
